Scene from Passion Play - Peter by the FireConfirmation and Passion Play

The Confirmation program at Prince of Glory is offered to 9th and 10th graders. It includes classes, involvement with regular Sunday Church School and Worship, and participation in the Passion Play. The Passion Play, depicting the events of the week leading up to Jesus' crucifixion, is presented at Prince of Glory on Good Friday. We also schedule a trip to present the play to another congregation. More details about the program are available on the Educational Opportunities page.

Synod and National Youth Events

The Gathering is the annual state wide event for all Lutheran youth. It is usually held between Christmas and New Years in Lansing. Worship services, workshops, getting to know youth from other churches, and serious sleep deprivation are highlights.

The National Youth Event is sponsored by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. For example, Lutheran youth from across the country assembled in Saint Louis in the summer of 2000.

Work Camp

Each summer, youth from Prince of Glory are given the opportunity to attend an out of town Work Camp. They spend a week in a local community, working on construction and other projects to help people who are in need. It's hard work, but the chance to help others has made this one of the best experiences they have had, according to many past participants. Once a young person has attended Work Camp, they are frequently eager to go again.

Youth Sunday

Each year (usually the last week of January or first week of February) a Sunday is set aside and designated Youth Sunday. The youth are responsible for the entire worship service that Sunday. They lead the service, provide the music, and deliver the sermon.
