Welcome to Prince of Glory. We are a congregation of the Evangelical
Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) located in Madison Heights, Michigan, USA,
near Detroit. We serve the Lord with a program of
worship, study, service, and outreach opportunities.
When our charter was signed on April 16, 1961, our church received its name
from an 18th century hymn by Isaac Watts:
"When I survey the wondrous
cross
On which the PRINCE OF GLORY died,
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my
pride."
It is from the words of this hymn that our church received its call and mission.

Will Meinberg, of Royal Oak, and Helen Soehren,
of Troy, members of Prince of Glory Lutheran Church in Madison
Heights ( POG) , travelled across the globe to Mbulu, Tanzania ,
East Africa, last October, and personally witnessed the impact that
10 plus years of POG's fundraising efforts and spiritual support
has had on the ground to the people of Mbulu.
This year, Prince of Glory is hoping to raise funds to purchase
several bicycles to help provide transportation for the Christian
Education teachers to travel to the Primary school, as well as for
the Evangelists to travel to the outposts. You can help!
Prince of Glory is holding a Benefit Coffeehouse for this purpose on
Saturday, February 11 @ 7 p.m.
