Prince of Glory participates in the distribution of gifts of
food to several families in need. We do this once a month. Members bring food to
church, where it is assembled into packages according to the needs of each
family. We drop off the assembled packages at the families' homes.

Prince of Glory has provided workers to assist in construction
of new houses as part of the Habitat for Humanity program. These houses are
being built for deserving families who spend their own time working with us on
the project. It's a special opportunity to see the impact that a project like
this can have on people's lives. We have usually participated in this once every
other year (alternating years with Paint the Town projects).

Once a year, usually in October, Prince of Glory provides
volunteers to staff the South Oakland Homeless Shelter. The shelter is housed in
other local churches. Our volunteers spend the night, provide transportation,
prepare and serve dinner and breakfast.

Each year at our Thanksgiving Eve service, canned goods are
brought to church. The children bring the cans and boxes forward during the
service as part of our offering. The food collected is given to community
organizations to distribute to people who need it.

Prince of Glory participates in the American Red Cross Blanket
Days. New or gently used blankets are donated to benefit homeless persons,
domestic abuse victims, and teen runaways at shelters in Wayne, Oakland, and
Macomb counties. Top of Page
