Subject: Greetings
Pastor John Siefken
Prince of Glory Lutheran Church
Dear Pastor John,
I am grateful to send you greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank you very much for the reply of my previous e-mail which I had sent you
before I left Mbulu for Stavanger-Norway. I have got you e-mail dated 5th of
Sept. 2002 from mbuluparish2@yahoo.com
It is now more than a month since I started my Master of Philosophy in
Theology (M.Phil.) Degree studies. I am studying particularly the History of
Church and Mission. This semester I am writing an essay of about 30 pages on
"Infant Baptism in the Early Church". The reason I have chosen to
write on this topic is because infant baptism is one of the factors of
disagrements and divisions among the churches (denominations). I have chosen
this period in the Church History in order to find the background of this
practice so as to overcome the contemporary challenges among different
denominations. The question of infant baptism is one of the challenge facing the
church in Mbulu as well as in Tanzania; and I hope also elsewhere. Do you have
the same problem in your church, and would you mind sharing anything with me?
Frankly speaking I am very much impressed by your programs; e.g. Daily
Devotions, Weekly Bible Reading, Educational Opportunities, Arks Newsletter
(esp. your surmises), Organizations and Activities, to mention a few. I found
myself being inspired in reading you Web Site and also involved in some of your
programs, such as daily devotions. Really I have learned something from you
which I can impliment in my ministry.
I am not in Mbulu, but Mbulu Parish is still in my heart as it is my home
church. Mbulu is my home place, my grand grandfather was born there, he lived
there, and was buried there. My grandfather and my father were born there and my
wife and I have bult there. We will keep praying for the Mbulu parish and also
praying for you.
Yours in Christ love,
Rev. Elifuraha S.T.Massawe
