Subject: Greetings
Our dear friends at Prince of Glory Lutheran Church, Madison Heights.
Greetings from your friends at the Mbulu Parish in the name of our risen Christ
Jesus. We gratefully received your letters dated March 12, 14, April 10 and
other several letters from the children of your church. We received these
letters on April 30, 2001 when we had a meeting with the evangelists in our
Parish. They were very happy to know what and how are you doing in Madison
Heights. The letters from the Children of your church were translated into
Kiswahili and distributed to the children of the same age and sex in our parish.
They really enjoyed to know what their fellow children are doing and they
appreciate the idea of being pen pals with the children in y our congregation.
Unfortunately those who are in Primary Schools (age of ten, twelve may be up to
fifteen) cannot write in English, but we will volunteer to translate each letter
into English. The original will be sent with its translation below. Thanks to
Linda S. Newton who has introduced this idea of fellowship. Who have the
secondary school students who are interested in this idea of fellowship Probably
they would like to become pen pals with students of their level. These students
are able to express themselves in English. Therefore, their letters will be sent
soon.
Our dear friends, we sent you a letter in January this year. We are not quite
sure whether you received or not yet. I would like to express myself that I am
the said new pastor who by then was looking forward to his ordination. On
February 18,2001 I was ordained to be a pastor, and we had a very nice
ordination ceremony. Many guests came from different places within and outside
our Diocese. Together with approximately two thousand people who came to witness
that event, we had the Bishop from neighborly Diocese - Bishop Thomas Laizer
from Diocese in Arusha Region. You are among those who were sent the letter of
invitation unfortunately it was not easy for you to be with us in that occasion.
Now I am working as a Parish Pastor together with Pastor Samwel Sulle in Mbulu
Parish. Besides this, I have other duties such teaching Bible Knowledge and
Divinity in two Secondary Schools within our Parish and also working with the
Department of Christian Education, Sunday School and Youths in our Diocese.
Pastor John H.Siefken said about the visitation by Diane Thompson in the
fall. We are impressed to know that you are interested in knowing our ministry
and works and you are praying for us. Thanks be to God. We will continue sharing
different experiences with you so that we may learn and keep on praying for each
other.
We thank you for your financial support. In our letter of January we asked
about the purpose of the money which we had received. Now we are free to use in
building a kindergarten school. Peggy Vandenhemel explained how you did the
fundraiser of US $ 750 and that of US $ 731 for our church. We thank Diane and
Wes Thompsom for the program they had presented and for sharing with you one of
our local food, chapati and chai. This implies you value our customs. We also
thank Pastor Tim Larson and a Christian band called Opposable Thumbs for a
wonderful concert which fundraised US $ 731 for Us. We need to consult the
treasurer of our Diocese about this US $ 731 because is not yet deposited in the
account of Mbulu Parish; may be it is still in their account of famine relief.
Would you please tell us when did you sent this amount of money and did you
mention the name of Mbulu Diocese or
"Congregation"/"Parish". This will help us to know exactly
and the Diocese can release this money if they deposited in their accounts by
mistake. Recently we received US $ 655.36 from you for buying bicycles for our
evangelists. We all owe a debt of gratitude to you for all these financial
assistance. May God bless you. Thank you for sending us your e-mail address. We
are grateful to send you ours; which is: mbuluparish@yahoo.com
Welcome to use this e-mail address.
We are preparing/collecting letters from our children, youths and choir
groups. They will be sent and enclosed with some pictures very soon. Keep on
praying for each other. Read Philemon 4,5 as our greetings from the Bible.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Yours in Christ
