Welcome to Prince of Glory. We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) located in Madison Heights, Michigan, USA, near Detroit. We serve the Lord with a program of worship, study, service, and outreach opportunities.

When our charter was signed on April 16, 1961, our church received its name from an 18th century hymn by Isaac Watts:
        "When I survey the wondrous cross
        On which the PRINCE OF GLORY died,
        My richest gain I count but loss
        And pour contempt on all my pride."
It is from the words of this hymn that our church received its call and mission.

Communion services are usually held two to three times per month on the first, third and fifth Sundays of the month. Lutherans believe Christ is truly present in, with, and under the bread and wine of Holy Communion. All baptized Christians who trust in Christ for forgiveness of sin and eternal life are welcome to commune with us. You do not have to be Lutheran or come from a Lutheran background.

A Nursery is available at both services and during Sunday Church School for children through age 5.

We are located at 1357 W. Fourteen Mile Rd., Madison Heights, Michigan. We are on the south side of Fourteen Mile Rd. between Stephenson Hwy. and Campbell Rd. just west of the Oakland Mall. What's Up?

Steve Mayes will be conducting a presentation of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah on Easter Sunday. All those interested in participating are welcome to join! Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings after the Lenten Services.

The POG Book Club invites all members and the public to join us on the 3rd Wednesday of every month to share the love of a good book! The first meeting is on Wednesday, January 20th at 7:00pm. We will be reading "The Lost Symbol" by Dan Brown -- please have this read by the meeting so we can discuss the entire book. The second and third meetings will be held on Wednesday, February 17th and Wednesday, March 17th @ 8:30 p.m. Thereafter we will resume our meetings at 7 p.m.

Unemployed? Suffering Losses? Experiencing grief, anxiety, fear or sadness? Come and join us for "Coping With Change", a support group for adults wanting a fresh start. Everyone is invited. Sessions are held on Thursdays from 11:30am to 1:00pm at the church. The group is sponsored by Gateway Counseling Center. Click here for a flyer with more information.

Everyone is invited to attend and bring a friend to the POG Cooking Class. Meetings are the second Wednesday of each month (except during Lent) at 7:00pm, beginning with the first meeting on January 13. Click here for more information.

What's better than YoVille, Farmville, BeJeweled Blitz, Farmtown, School of Magic or Mafia Wars? Fourth Friday Free Fun Euchre and Game Nights at Prince of Glory.
